Bosques Biodiversos turns forest management into a lever for measurable, permanent and profitable decarbonisation. Our projects — Atlantic mixed forests, Mediterranean woodlands and resilient reforestation — absorb more than 12 tonnes of CO₂ eq/ha/year and are designed to comply with three regulatory frameworks simultaneously: Royal Decree 214/2025, Regulation (EU) 2024/3012 and ISO 14064-2.

1. Enhanced scientific accuracy. We integrate aerial LiDAR, drone photogrammetry, near-infrared spectrometry and Eddy-Covariance camera flows. The resulting digital twin is recalibrated annually; overall uncertainty is kept below 5% (95% CI) after third-party auditing. An open repository allows time series to be compared and sampling biases to be detected.

2. Triple environmental impact. Each Carbon Credit (CDC) includes:

  • Certified net CO₂ capture.

  • Biodiversity index (forest birds and lepidoptera ↑ > 25% compared to baseline).

  • Soil improvement: ≥ 8% increase in organic carbon in soil and 15% reduction in surface runoff.

3. Seamless traceability. We tokenise CCUs on a private permissioned blockchain and synchronise data with the Spanish Absorption Project Registry. Each token incorporates the MRV footprint, the fraction allocated to the reversal buffer (10%) and custody metadata to prevent double counting.

4. Governance and legal certainty. An independent committee (environmental lawyers, forestry engineers, economists) reviews contracts and updates reversal clauses as European case law evolves. A distinction is made between permanent absorption (> 50 years), carbon farming (20-50 years) and storage in wood products (< 20 years). This avoids confusion and ownership conflicts.

5. Equitable economic model. 80% of the credit value goes back to the forest owner; 20% covers MRV, certification and marketing. We provide the buyer with:

  • Verifiable compliance for ESG, CSRD and SBTi reporting.

  • Reduced reputational risk thanks to public audits and automatic penalties in case of fraud.

6. Critical perspective. We recognise two challenges: (i) permanence depends on robust fire prevention policies — which is why we allocate an additional 5% of revenues to preventive forestry plans —; (ii) the voluntary market still lacks a regulated floor price, so we incorporate forward contracts that protect the owner against sudden price drops.

In summary, Bosques Biodiversos offers reliable CDCs with tangible co-benefits, aligned with the 2050 climate goals and with a governance framework that minimises risks for all parties involved.
